How does Your Body react after smoking Marijuana?

Many individuals may know what it feels like to get high, but ask a dozen different pot smokers how or why this happens and only a handful can explain the process. When you smoke weed, THC or delta9-THC (the psychoactive constituent in weed) travels through the lungs and into the bloodstream where it is eventually carried to the brain. Although the lungs filter some of the delta9-THC, up to 60% of it traverses the blood-to-brain barrier and causes the person to get high. The High and Peak Concentration From start to finish, a person can feel the results of the process almost immediately as peak concentrations of delta9-THC occur within 5 to 15 minutes after the person first inhales. In other words, this is the highest you’ll get. From that point on, the effects start to dissipate over the next hour or two. Here are the key takeaways to remember:THC is introduced into your body when you smoke marijuana. You can feel the effects of the THC within a few minutes of smoking. The peak concentration (peak of the high) occurs within 15 minutes and can be gone within an hour after smoking. The Feel of the High So what does getting high actually feel like? Whether you smoke marijuana in a blunt, bong, joint, or pipe, there are certain effects that you are going to feel including: amusement creativity euphoria hunger (the “munchies”) relaxation sensitivity to certain colors as well as light, smell, sound, taste, and touch The key point to remember is that you’ll feel high almost immediately and it will be intense for roughly 20 to 30 minutes before it begins tapering off. Thus, if you’re looking for the best way to experience a quick, intense high, smoking marijuana is your best and safest bet. However, you’ll need to select the variety of herbs that suit your recreational or medical requirements. What happens when You consume Edibles? When you ingest marijuana edibles, the delta9-THC travels down your esophagus into your stomach, then passes through the stomach and on to your liver. Once in the liver, it is “transformed” (metabolized) into 11-hydroxy-THC, the chemical that differentiates the process of ingesting weed from smoking it. Compared to delta9-THC, 11-hydroxy-THC has a more potent psychedelic effect. This explains why you feel differently after ingesting marijuana compared to how you feel after smoking it. The key difference between ingesting and smoking is that you offset the munchies when ingesting edibles. For more information regarding the sensation of feeling high or to hear about our fine line of smoking accessories, call Tank Glass at (323)-364-7952 today. Complement Your Marijuana use with CBD Products

Many marijuana smokers are enhancing their smoking experience by complementing it with CBD products such as isolate powders, isolate slabs, and shatter. So why do some consumers feel that these CBD products are the perfect complement? There are several answers including: CBD helps you come down – if you find that you’ve gotten too high, CBD can help you come down by decreasing the psychoactive effects cause by THC. So if you’ve smoked too much and want to come down quicker than what you normally would, taking a little CBD will help where this is concerned. CBD is already in the plant – the best proof of CBD’s efficacy when used with cannabis is attributed to its presence in the marijuana plant. Furthermore, the amount of CBD present depends on the specific strain of cannabis. However, having CBD isolates or some other CBD product on hand enables you to increase the content of it when smoking a strain with a lower amount of CBD. Entourage effect – different parts of the cannabis plant, such as the cannabinoids and terpenes, work in conjunction with one another to maximize the effect. So you can intensify the effect of smoking marijuana by taking CBD with it. This is especially true where medical marijuana users are concerned. For example, CBG or CBN isolates can help to maximize the effect since both of these occur in low quantities in marijuana. Even without cannabis, CBD can be useful and beneficial – it’s always a good idea to have CBD on hand whether you’re using it with marijuana or not. This is due to the many benefits it offers such as: alleviates cancer-related symptoms could be beneficial for heart health may provide benefits for individuals with neurological disorders pain relief reduces acne (in some but not all cases) reduces anxiety and depression One of the more commonly asked questions by first-time CBD users is “Are there any side effects?” Although CBD is considered safe and is well tolerated by most users, some individuals may experience adverse side effects such as: decreased appetite diarrhea fatigue weight changes CBD is known to interact with certain prescription medications. So, before you start using any CBD product, be sure to discuss this with a physician to avoid potentially harmful interactions and to ensure your safety. The Origination of “420”

Even though many of us have heard the theories regarding the origination of the term “420” and how it came to be associated with smoking marijuana, the truth of the matter remains clouded in mystery. One theory is that it represents the number of chemicals that exist when smoking a blunt or a joint. Another theory contends that this is the code used by police departments to signify that someone is smoking marijuana. The reality is that neither of these have any basis in fact.In order to determine the origination of 420, we have to go back 5 decades to the 1970’s and a Huffington Post interview about the individuals who coined the term. According to the interview, 4:20 was the time that these individuals hang out together and smoke. Once they had finished, they would go searching for this secret weed garden that was supposedly being grown by a member of the Coast Guard who was stationed at Point Reyes 30 miles northwest of San Francisco. These individuals were known by many as the “Waldos” and would meet regularly by the Louis Pasteur statue on their San Rafael school campus. They would usually go searching after their sports practice. Upon passing one another in the school hallways, they would whisper the phrase “4:20 – Louis” as a reminder to meet at that time. At some point they dropped the “Louis” part of the phrase and would whisper “4:20.” Since then, the phrase has evolved into dozens of different meanings. For the most part, 420 was their code for asking different questions such as “Do you want to smoke some weed?”, “Are you high?”, or “Are you holding (Do you have any weed)?” Sad to say, they never did find that secret patch of marijuana, but the term 420 has stuck around ever since. So how did the term go from its use among a small group of high schoolers into an expression that most are familiar with nationwide? According to music history, you can thank the San Francisco band the Grateful Dead for its growth as a popular phrase in marijuana culture.Eventually, the use of 420 spread throughout the band community and was responsible for the creation of a subculture identity. Once the magazine “High Times” coined the term in some of their content, it became a marketing tool for the publication, which led to its distribution on an international scale.
